Selection Process

• Electrician/Fitter/Turner/Welder/Storekeeper/Surveyor: CBT only; minimum qualifying marks 50% UR/EWS/Others and 40% SC/ST/PwBD/OBC (where reserved). Shortlisting for DV up to 1:3.

• Assistant (Accounts)/Driver/Assistant: CBT + Trade Test (qualifying: 50% UR/EWS/Others; 40% reserved). Final merit on CBT marks for those qualifying Trade Test and DV. For Assistant Trainee, passing one of Hindi/English proficiency tests allows provisional selection subject to achieving required proficiency during training.

• CBT: 2 hours; 100 MCQs; Section I: 80 domain; Section II: 20 (LR, Quant, English, GK/Awareness); medium: English/Hindi; 1 mark each; no negative marking; no marks for unattempted. PwBD: compensatory time 20 min/hour; scribe as per GOI norms for eligible LD candidates.

Test Centres

• Himachal Pradesh (Shimla/Mandi/Bilaspur/Solan/Kangra/Hamirpur/Una/Kullu/Chamba; allocation subject to availability and organizational needs). Two preferences to be chosen; no change later.

• Service Agreement Bond: Rs. 2,00,000 for General/EWS/OBC and Rs. 1,00,000 for SC/ST/PwBD; serve for at least 3 years post-training.

• Medical Fitness: Joining subject to medical fitness as per SJVN rules; those employed elsewhere should resign only after being declared fit.

• Posting: One-year on-job training; post-training deployment at any SJVN installation/subsidiary/JV or deputation as per requirement, including shift operations.

Exam Pattern & Merit Finalization

• Final Merit: For trade posts (Electrician/Fitter/Turner/Welder/Storekeeper/Surveyor) based on CBT marks of eligible candidates after DV. For Assistant categories, based on CBT marks of those who qualify Trade Test and DV; tie-breaker by date of birth (older higher), then GOI guidelines. Cut-offs: 50% UR/EWS/Others; 40% SC/ST/PwBD/OBC(NCL).

General Conditions

• Only Indian Nationals aged 18+ and domiciles of Himachal Pradesh eligible. Candidature at all stages is provisional subject to eligibility; incomplete applications will be rejected. Management may change vacancies/centres or cancel process. Legal jurisdiction: Shimla only.
